Creating and reCreating

Man!  It has been forever and a day since I've blogged! SO sorry about that! Life has had me preoccupied, but I managed to wiggle my out for a bit and blog this post.  I am elated that you're here!  :)

Ok, so remember waaaay back when, when I asked for your help with my front room??

Well, like I said "life" has had me preoccupied so not too much has changed, but I have changed SOME things. (still not the light I want :\ bare with me)

So, I found this SUPER cool hounds tooth wrapping paper that I just HAD to have!  Wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I knew I wanted it for this room.  (OH, you thought I'd wrap gifts with it?? Silly you! Don't you know me by now.)

I'm really liking it on the TOP of the table!!  So what I'm thinking is, having a piece of glass cut and having it under the glass!  What a WOW statement!!

See... still that same ol' light that is totally wrong for this room!
aaannnndd  it completely covers up my super fun sun burst mirror!

I still haven't found that "perfect" fabric for my chairs either... So I was thinking of maybe painting the fabric!  I have seen of really great transformations on Pinterest  here and here
I figure if it's flop... who cares!  It's not like I love the current fabric any how.  No love lost.

Now, onto {or is it INTO?? Hmm...} the FAMILY ROOM.  This room has changed a gazillion times, but I am feeling pretty settled with it now, so I think it has "staying power"  ;)
(( and if you know me, that's a pretty big deal))

I still need an area rug!  I did use one I had for a while, but it wasn't large enough and it drove me batty!  So out it went~

My style is what I call

Traditional EcLeCtIc.

This sweet picture, of my middle chicken and baby chicken, is on my coffee table right in front of where I reign sit so I can see it every day!  It was strategically placed there because 95% of the time, these two are at each others throats!  THIS helps me remember there really is A LOT of love between them.
(even if they don't always show it)

How'd ya like my clever cord cover?!  It's really a chandy cover, but dual purpose is my middle name!!

My sweet Weezie is just too lazy tired to move for my picture.

I like quirky.. so my ELEVATOR sign is next to the stairs! ~ A little fun with sarcasm~

Opposite view... entering the front door.

My FAMILY wall.

The hanger is a "Kristy Original" Pottery Barn knock off  :)
Cost: $12

AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!
.hahaha.

Besides, I have a tattoo to prove it!!

Enter now.... The eat-in kitchen area.

Meet Besty.  My sweet cow!  I AH.DORE her!!

And YES!  That IS an antique sewing table top on my table! I LOVE IT! The drawers are great for storage! One is for Big Daddy's junk and the other is for the sets and sets of headphones that seem to float around the house resting on every surface they can find! (arrgg)

I collect lots of kitchy things and Salt and Pepper shakers are one of them :)

A view from the kitchen.

Crown molding is next on the list!

Remember our big kitchen reveal ??

Well, I just found these fun botanical prints (on clearance at TJMaxx for $4.00 each, thankyouverymuch!) to add to the space and thought I'd share.  I love how it pulls the whole sink area together!!

This cow dish made me laugh when I saw it at a garage sale.. so...  I bought her! I live with the philosophy
"IF IT BRINGS YOU JOY AND MAKES YOU SMILE, IT SHOULD BE IN YOUR SPACE!"
~~however, Big Daddy thinks TOO many things bring me joy!  ;) haha.~~

***

Welcome to our half bath.  Sit, stay a while.... Umm..On second thought.. ;)

I LOVE this sea fan I snagged at TJMaxx for a whopping $7.99!!  I think it totally makes the bathroom!

**

We got this pedestal sink from Craig's list for $40!
It pays to shop second hand!! :)

I have a thing for birds from the south, in case you missed it.

***

We continued the color onto the ceiling to create a larger/taller space.  Cause let's face it... half baths are tiny!

Hope you enjoyed the little tour of "Casa de los Pollos"!

That means "The House of Chickens"
... which will be in my next post...
Til then.... Adios!!

hugs,
